Women’s Health

Do you have PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome), period problems (e.g heavy, painful periods, irregular periods), endometriosis, fibroids or PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) ?

It is important to address why the hormonal imbalance has arisen and as every hormone system is inter-related, it’s important to consider the “whole picture” – nothing happens in isolation! Hence treating one system in isolation doesn’t necessarily solve the issue and can potentially worsen other aspects of health.

Underlying factors may include thyroid disorders (most commonly hypothyroid), stress, diet, environmental factors and genetic factors. Medications like the oral contraceptive pill are used to help manage many of these conditions and although they may give symptom relief they unfortunately can compound the problem by creating even more a hormonal imbalance by giving the body more synthetic hormones- not good when there is already an imbalance! And now there is more evidence as to how further nutritional deficiencies are created and the altering of the gut microbiome- which is critical for our overall health.

The medical problems of most women are rooted in hormonal imbalance brought on by doing too much while getting too little physical and emotional nourishment
